Our goals for this service project are simple, we want our members to get hands on experience in all phases of usability testing while giving back to an organization that does so much for our community.
Our efforts will be divided into several phases. The first of these phases is focused on usability testing. During this phase we will create task based teams that will work to:
- Recruit test participants - contact people who would be willing to participate in the testing, determine the best time, location, and contact information for each participant
- Prepare for the testing - compose scripts and questions targeting both the donor and volunteer target audiences
- Execute the testing - moderate and note-take during the one-on-one testing
- Compile and prepare the results and results presentation - analyze and identify high priority to low priority findings from both qualitative and quantitative data submitted by the Test Execution Team.
We are excited to get the ball rolling and we need all the volunteers we can get to help test, design, and ultimately enhance the My Sister’s House website. You do not have to be a paid member of UPA or LSCUPA to be involved, so please forward on to anyone who may be interested.
While Phase 1 will conclude before June 30th, you can contact Shannon@lowcountryupa.org if you are in the Charleston area and would like to be involved in this or upcoming Phases of this project.
Please keep in mind that you are not limited to one team; feel free to be as involved as you wish. Nor are you expected to be available each day of the proposed schedule. Each team has a Lead who will be contacting you during the week of May 25th.
Please see the Phase 1 Overview document for descriptions and dates to note. This document will serve as a guide for each Phase I Team, to which the Leads will adhere.
We look forward to hearing from you!
